Straight wire drawing refers to the processing of a straight line pattern on the surface of aluminium sheet by mechanical abrasion. It is mostly used for the decorative processing of round signs and small decorative dials.

The thread is made by using a small motor with a round felt on the shaft, which is fixed to the table at an angle of about 60 degrees to the edge of the table, and a dragging plate with a fixed aluminium press, to which a strip of polyester film with straight edges is attached to limit the thread bidding.
